Evelyn Elisse Stringham

December 17, 1938 — June 19, 2017

Evelyn Elisse Stringham, age 78, of Rigby passed away June 19, 2017, at the Lincoln Court Assisted Living Center. Elisse was born December 17, 1938 in Lorenzo, Idaho a daughter of Myron Baker Hoag and Mildred LaVerne Fife Hoag. She was raised and attended school in Dubois, Salmon, Cobalt and Challis.  She married David “Slim” Billy Stringham on October 8, 1955 in Milo, Idaho.  She worked for Basic American Foods on the lab trim line in packaging for 21 years.  She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was the correspondence secretary and known as the “Sunshine Lady”.  As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she served in the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and a Visiting Teacher Coordinator.  She enjoyed quilting, canning, crossword and Jig saw puzzles and baking.  Elisse is survived by her daughters, Serena Marie Rolfe of Rigby, Jenny Sue Stringham of Rigby, sons, James Dee Stringham of Idaho Falls, Robert Wayne Stringham of Rigby, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Elisse was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Myron Stanley Hoag and sister Marlene Waters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local hospice.
