Evelyn Williams, 87, of Chandler, Arizona, formerly of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Springville, Utah, passed away November 9, 2008, at the Morelos Care Home in Chandler, Arizona.
She was born May 8, 1921, in Rigby, to Lorenzo William Walker and Stella Jenkins Walker.
She was raised and attended school in Rigby graduating from Rigby High School.
On December 19, 1943, she married Owen A. Rennie in Rigby, Idaho; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 15, 1946. He preceded her in death. She married Alexander Williams, June 4, 1983 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Evelyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities, her favorites being dance director and family history extraction. She worked as a telephone operator, as a bookkeeper for the Idaho Potato Growers in Aberdeen, Idaho, owned and operated the Bonneville Motel in Idaho Falls, and worked as a clerk for Chesbro Music Co. for 17 years.
She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, reading, playing the organ, temple work and family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughters; Cheryl (Ed) White of Phoenix, Az, Linda (Karl) Fielding of Chandler, AZ, Joy (Byron) Gourley, of Green Cove Springs, FL, Karen (Kelley) Thueson, of Mapleton, UT, sons, Richard (Debbie) Rennie, of Boise, John Michael Rennie, of Las Vegas, NV, step-children, Joy (Bill) Moss, of Rexburg, Gary (Kathryn) Williams, of Lubbock, TX, a sister, Ardath Walker Carlsen, of Rexburg, brothers, Roderick Lynn (Sharon) Walker, of Rigby, Dan J. (Judy) Walker, of Rigby, John Kent (Julie) Walker, of Idaho Falls, William Ned (JoAnn) Walker, of Rigby, 41 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren, and 10 Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Owen A. Rennie, and Alexander Williams, a son James William Rennie, sisters, Florence Elizabeth Walker, Betty Jeanne Spaulding, brothers, Ray Lorenzo Walker, and Glen Zay Walker, and a step-son, Paul Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the Boulevard and Rose Park Ward Chapel in Idaho Falls. (351 W. 14th St.) The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. that morning at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
