Everett Peter “Swede” Henrie, age 78, of Archer, formerly of Rigby, died at his home Tuesday, March 14, 2006. Everett was born January 6, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Peter Thomson Henrie and Bessie Rebecca Hunting Henrie.
Everett grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended Riverside Elementary School and O.E. Bell Jr. High. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, in Texas, Georgia, and Washington as a supply Technician. He married Leona May Sherry September 9, 1953. They were later divorced. He married Audrey Dianne McMurtrey January 5, 1968, in Carson City, Nevada.
Everett worked for Allied Paving Construction Company and Burggraf construction as a truck driver and paver operator. He was a member of the operating engineers union and the ball shaggers knot hole club in Idaho Falls. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Idaho Falls and a charter member, trustee, and chairman of the membership committee of the Eagles in Rigby. He enjoyed chasing women, drinking, camping, hunting, fishing, baseball, bowling, shooting pool, and being with his family. He boxed and raced stock cars.
He is survived by his wife Audrey of Archer, Idaho. Two daughters, Linda (Mike) Mihalka of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, Terinna Cayko of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Three sons; Thomas (Robin) Henrie of Rigby, Idaho, Peter (Shelby) Henrie of Archer, Idaho; Phillip (Fiance Ashley Garn) Henrie of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Survived by two sisters; Betty (Vince) Valdez of Silver Bow, Montana; Janet (Chuck) Stace of Puyallup, Washington; four brothers, Wayne Henrie of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lester “Joe” (Francis) Henrie of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tony (Rose) Wilson of Garland, Utah, and Bill Wilson of Boise, Idaho. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Everett was preceded in death by his parents sister Donna, brother Edmond “Toad” Henrie and four sibling infants.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:30p.m. at the funeral home and prior to the services on Monday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the Sutton Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Jefferson Veterans Team. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Idaho State Veterans Home (1957 Alvin Ricken Dr., Pocatello, Idaho 83201) in Everett’s name.
