With full and grateful hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Evert Mouser—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend—on October 11, 2025, at the age of 74.
Evert lived a life marked by strength, quiet service, and an unshakable love for his family. For 50 years, he was the devoted eternal companion of his sweetheart, Marie. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising six children, five sons and one daughter—who carry forward his values and legacy.
Evert was deeply committed to his community, his faith, and especially to the youth. A lifelong supporter and leader in the Boy Scouts of America, he was an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the prestigious Silver Beaver Award—an honor given for exceptional service to young people. His impact on the lives he guided through scouting is immeasurable.
A passionate coach, Evert volunteered countless hours on the sidelines of youth sports, not just teaching the rules of the game, but instilling values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity in every player he mentored, especially his own children.
When he wasn’t coaching or planning scout outings, Evert loved to fish. Whether by the river or at the lake, he found peace with a rod in hand and a line in the water—much to the terror of the local fish population.
He will be fondly remembered for his early morning garage-cleaning sessions with his kids, his legendary microwaved chicken sandwiches, his Friday yard sale adventures with his grandchildren, and the stubborn but deeply loving spirit that defined him.
Evert leaves behind a legacy of devotion, service, and quiet strength. His love and influence continues to ripple through the lives of those he touched, especially the family he cherished above all.
He is survived by his beloved eternal companion Marie, their six children, 24 grandchildren, two eagerly awaited great-grandchildren as well as his oldest friend and older brother, Dwaine Mouser. He is proceeded in death by his father Amos Mouser, his mother DeLila Mouser, and his daughter, Bonnie Jean Mouser.
He is also remembered with love by extended family, lifelong friends, fellow scouts, and all who were blessed to know him.
A service celebrating Evert’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the LDS Chapel in Lewisville, Idaho. There will be a viewing prior to the service at 9:00 AM for those who wish to pay their respects.
He will be laid to rest at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery in Ririe, Idaho.
