Felipe Lazalde, 62, of Rigby died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at his home. Felipe was born February 5, 1942 in Sain Alto Zacatecas Mexico, the son of Macario Lazalde and Andrea Chihauhua. He was raised and attended school in Mexico. He worked for Kingston produce for 15 years and Snake River Plains for 10 years. Felipe married Alicia Borunda on November 5, 1979 in Delicias Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Felipe enjoyed working in his yard, coin collecting, music and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Alicia Lazalde of Rigby, Idaho. Daughters, Priscilla Fontes of Rigby, Idaho and Sonya (Joseph) Moss of Rigby, Idaho. His sons, Scott (Judy) Lazalde of Bellingham, Washington, Todd Sorenson of Rigby, Idaho and Jason (Kristie) Sorenson of Rigby, Idaho. His sisters, Maris Reyes of Juarez, Mexico, Celia Martinez of Monteray, N.L. Mexico, Esperanza Lazalde of El Paso, Texas and Gadalupe of Juarez, Mexico. His brothers, Jeronimo Lazalde of Colonia Castro, Mexico, Jose Lazalde of Juarez, Mexico, Fransisco Lazalde of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Santiago Lazalde of Springville, Utah. Ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Garfield L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Bill Follett officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the services at the church from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Interment will follow the services at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
