Fern Housley Griffin, formerly from Rigby, ID passed away on April 3, 2013 at her son’s home in Castle Rock, Colorado at the age of 90.
She was born on June 17, 1922 in Menan, Idaho. Her parents were Jesse and Leah Housley. She attended school in Rigby, Idaho.
She was married December 18, 1940 to Kerney LeRoy Griffin in the Logan LDS Temple. She lived in Rigby, Idaho, Logan, Utah, Grace, Idaho and Spring, Texas before moving with her family to Castle Rock, Colorado.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was well known for her beautiful quilts and she enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by her son, Rex Griffin, his wife, Rhonda Griffin. They reside in Castle Rock, Colorado. She has five grandchildren, Chelsea Griffin Hill (Bryan Hill) of Castle Rock, Colorado. Cameron Griffin (Jaynee Wilson Griffin) of Spring, Texas. Bethany Griffin Zenger (Matt Zenger) of Portland, Oregon. Logan Griffin who is currently serving an LDS Mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina South Mission and Tyson Griffin of Castle Rock, Colorado. She has two great grandsons, Bryce and Kyler Hill of Castle Rock, Colorado and a great granddaughter due to arrive in May.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kerney Griffin, daughter Deana Griffin, siblings, LaWayne Housley, Venna Wilhelm and Mazel Housley.
Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 13, 2013 Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Grant Central Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
