Fern Lewis Scott

Fern Lewis Scott, age 91, of Ammon, formerly of Annis, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at her home. She was born March 11, 1918, in Annis, to Wilford John Lewis, and Myrtle Harrop Lewis. She was raised in Annis and Menan, and graduated from Midway High School. On May 26, 1936, she married Lyle Wren Scott, in Annis; their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on March 4, 1938. She and her husband farmed in the Annis area for 60 years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as Relief Society President, Ward Chorister, she also sang in the Annis Ward Choir. Fern enjoyed fishing, camping, needlework, gardening, and cooking, she and her family appreciate the loving care she received from Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She is survived by her husband Lyle W. Scott, of Ammon, daughters, Sharon (Darwin) Casper, of Lewisville, June (Norman) Jorgensen, of Orem, UT, Lylene, (Ron) Bennett, of Rexburg, Cheryl (Paul) Dinsdale, of Farr West, UT, Nancy (Craig) Tibbitts, of Idaho Falls, son, Brent Lewis (Anne) Scott, of Eden, UT, a sister, Gwen Hendricks, of Ammon, a brother, Darrell (Gerry) Lewis, of American Fork, UT, 29 grandchildren, and 56 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, LaVae Jackson, Mae Jean Hoopes, and a brother, Ray Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2009, at Menan Stake Center, 698 N. 3600 E., Menan with Bishop Jeff Jones of the Ammon 21st ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St., Rigby and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Monday, at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
