Fern Poulsen Sharp

Fern Sharp, 92, of Rigby, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Homestead Assisted Living of Rigby. Fern was born February 17, 1916 a daughter to Joseph Emil Poulsen and Alice Haddon Cole Poulsen. She was raised in Garfield, attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School in 1934. She married Frank Sharp July 11, 1935 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. She worked at the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Hospital and at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church serving in the Relief Society. She enjoyed the outdoors and the mountains, and ranching in Island Park, Swan Valley and surrounding areas with her husband. She and her family express special thanks to the girls at the Homestead Assisted Living Facility and the Hospice Home Health care for their loving care. She is survived by three daughters: Beverly (Ray) Carling of Ogden, Utah, Marilyn (Gary) Sharp of Ucon, and Kelly (Lyle) Schiess of Victor, one son Merlin (Belinda) Sharp of Roberts, one sister Doris Jones of San Bernardino, California, 17 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Sharp in 1997, a son Jay Carl Sharp in 1955, a grandson Chance Edwin Schiess in 2002, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
