Florence Beck Curnutt

Florence Beck Curnutt passed away on the morning of Sunday Oct 18, 2015 at the Gardens Assisted Living Center in Rigby, Idaho. She was surrounded by family and members of Alliance Hospice. She was 84 years old. Florence was born January 10, 1931 in Grayling, Montana to Otto Frederick & Elta Hjort Beck. The family later moved to Shelley, Idaho where Florence grew up and attended school. After High School she married Donald H. Curnutt. They were married November 25, 1949 at the Curnutt Farm southeast of Idaho Falls and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 24, 1965. They had three children; Linda, Craig & Tammy. Don and Florence lived on the farm until 1966 when Don took a job in Seattle, Washington. They returned to Idaho Falls in 1969 and moved to Rigby, Idaho in 1993. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions in the church. Her favorite was Librarian, a position she held several times over the years. She will always be remembered as a kind and generous lady who was always willing to help others. Florence was always a perfectionist and meticulous about her work. She put her entire heart into everything she did. She had many talents, with sewing among her favorites. She sewed draperies professionally for many years as an independent seamstress and worked with both Peterson’s Furniture and Allstrom’s. She also sewed her own fashionable clothing for herself and her daughters. Florence leaves behind her husband Don, daughter Linda Hendrickson (Cleve) of Rigby, son Craig Curnutt (Vida) of Rigby and daughter Tammy Heiner (Blake) of Roy, Utah, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, sisters Jean Day (Jack) & Beverly Johnson (Delmar) and brothers Francis Beck (Denise) & Lynn Beck (Gwen). She was preceded in death by her father (Otto Sr.), mother (Elta), and brothers (Otto Jr., Ralph & Gerald) Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 24 at Rigby East Stake Center, 4021 East 300 North, Rigby, ID 83442. A viewing will be held 6:30 pm – 8 pm Friday, October 23 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
