Florence Pack Monson, age 97, of Rigby, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rigby.
Florence was born March 5, 1911 at Richmond, Utah a daughter of Rufus Pack and Mary Rosetta Tolbert Pack. She was raised and attended school in Goshen, Idaho. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served on the Stake Relief Society Board, taught in the Primary, and in the Temple. She married Neils Nevell Monson on February 14, 1929 in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 10, 1964 in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. Florence was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed reading, and genealogy.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Beth (Terry) Hanson of Rigby, two sons, Roger Bruce (Faye) Monson of Leadore, Idaho, Robert Scott (Brenda) Monson of Rigby, 19 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Neils, 3 children, Florence, Monte, and Don Eugene, 3 sisters, Gladys, Goldy, and Afton, 10 brothers, Rufus, Ulysses, Milton, Horace, Don, Freeman, Edward, Clarence, Lloyd, and Ivan, 1 grandson, 2 great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel with Bishop Robert D. Clarke officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Interment will be at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
