Florence Martha Moore

Florence Martha Bowles Moore, 92, of Grant passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at her home, with her family by her side. She was under the care of Idaho Home Health and Hospice. She was born January 4, 1920, in Garfield to Earnest Richard Bowles and Clarissa Hancock Bowles. She was raised and attended schools in Milo and Ririe. On November 12, 1936 she married the love of her life, Leland Wallace Moore at her mother’s home in Milo. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 10, 1947. She and her husband farmed in the Grant area for many years. Florence was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Primary President, Relief Society President and Visiting Teacher. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, was an excellent candy maker and gave demonstrations on making chocolates; she was also an excellent seamstress and was a master quilter. She absolutely loved to cook and try new recipes, had a green thumb and loved to garden. Above all she cherished the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her daughter; LeAnn Moore (Barry) Ferguson, of Grant, Idaho, sister; Ellen Killian, of Provo, Utah, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Leland Wallace Moore, son; Larry W. Moore, parents, sisters; Lila Gildea, Eva Eldredge, brothers; Melvin Bowles, Lyman Bowles, Ralph Bowles, George Bowles, Dean Bowles, and a grandson, Samuel Ferguson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at the Grant LDS Chapel, 3431 E. 100 North, Rigby, with Bishop Grover Wray, conducting. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Grant LDS Chapel, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, also at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
