FLOYD DAVID CRYSTAL, age, 88 of Rigby, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Floyd was born July 7, 1916 at Garfield, Idaho, the son of David Raymond Crystal, and Ivy Jensen Crystal. He attended schools in Garfield. He married Harriett Eunice Johnson on June 25, 1935 in Rigby. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. After Harriet’s passing Floyd married Elsie Mildred Erickson. They later divorced. He was a life long farmer, cattleman and avid horseman, 2 time World Championship Cutter racer, all around cowboy with numerous trophies. He was associated with Eastern Idaho State Fair Draft Horse pulling for 42 years. He was inducted into the Eastern Idaho Horseman’s Hall of Fame. In spite of all his accomplishments, his greatest treasures were his family. Survivors include 1 sister Elaine (Carl) Hoggan, of Hamer, Idaho, 1 brother Reed (Roba) Crystal of Paul, Idaho, three daughters: Sharon (Gary) Martinsen of Rigby, Idaho. Joy Crystal and Diane Nielsen both of Idaho Falls; 2 sons: Ronald (Karen) Crystal of Rigby, and Terry (Lea) Crystal of Boise; 5 step children: Eric (Marion) Erickson, Robert (Bonnie) Erickson, Marshall (Kim) Seegmiller, Julie (Gordon) Phillips and Shon (Karen) Erickson; 28 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, 1 son Larry Crystal, and one great granddaughter Crystal Marie Crew. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. in the Garfield 2nd Ward L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Eric Kunz conducting. The family will meet with friends, Tuesday evening 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and Wednesday 12:00 noon until 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
