Floyd “Kay” Passey, age 81, of Rigby died in his home Wednesday, February 28, 2007.
He was born March 27, 1925 at Magrath, Alberta, Canada to Charles Ace Passey and Elva Colman Passey. He attended schools in Magrath where he farmed with his family. After moving to Rigby he worked as a painter, owning Kay Passey & Sons Custom Painting and also worked for Idaho Fresh Pak for twelve years, retiring in 1990. He Married Melba Joy Briggs June 14, 1949 in Rigby, Idaho. They were later divorced. Kay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the National Chariot Association and Jefferson County Sheriffs Posse. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed racing horses throughout the intermountain west. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Kay is survived by two sons, Darwin Blair Passey of Rigby, Blake Leon (Sharon) Passey of Vallejo, California, a twin brother Lloyd Jay (Carla) Passey of Rigby, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Randy Kay Passey, and three Brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2007 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby with Bishop David Briggs officiating. The family will meet with friends Sunday, March 4, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to services on Monday, from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
