Frances Louise Martin

Frances Louise Martin 85, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Frances was born on September 19, 1921 in Johnson County, Texas the daughter of Acey Dean Samuels and Faye Josephene Elizabeth Haugh Samuels. She was raised in Texas, Oklahoma and, when she was 13, the family moved to Arizona. She married Ralph Henry Martin on September 19, 1938 in Florence, Arizona. In 1955, the family moved to Nampa, Idaho where she resided until 1996. She worked twenty years for Safeway as a cashier in Nampa, Idaho. She also babysat in her home for time and she considered the children to be a part of her family and kept in touch with them as they grew up. Frances moved to Rigby, Idaho in 1996 to be closer to her sons. She was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Nampa. Frances enjoyed cooking, crocheting, family get-togethers, and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Frances is survived by one daughter Carol (Don) Smith of Seattle, Washington, two sons Gary R. Martin of Rigby, Ronald (Rosemary) Martin of Elmore City, Oklahoma, sister Faye Dean Gonzales of Gold Canyon, Arizona, ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and four sisters. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart and Lung Association.
