Frances Patricia Romero

Frances Patricia “Pat” Romero, age 70 of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away December 24, 2019 at Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg, Idaho.

Pat was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was raised in both Arizona and California. As an adult, she moved around to different states untill she ended up in Idaho in the late '70s.  She and her husband at the time made their home in Rigby, Idaho.  Pat later divorced, but continued to live in Rigby until she decided to move to "The Big City" Idaho Falls in 2002.

Pat received her GED from VOTEC, currently CEI, and started working for the Idaho Migrant Program for a short time.  Later she would work for Jefferson County School District 251 in Rigby, where she was employed for a little over 20 years, before early retirement due to health issues.  She was well known in the community for her service and dedication to all who needed a helping hand.  Pat always went above and beyond the call of duty.  She was missed when she retired from the school district and she will be forever missed here on this earth, but always in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Maria Elena King of Idaho Falls, Rose Mary (Javier Santos) Tafolla of Rigby, Juan Antonio (Jen) Romero of Idaho Falls, brother, Kenneth Eugene King of California, 8 grandchildren, Maria Tafolla, Sebastian Tafolla, Jorge Tafolla, Mercedes Avila , Dawson Miskin, Noah Romero, Sofia Romero, Zenaida King and 1 great-grandchild, Katai Avila

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lorraine Harvey, Thelma June Thweatt, Alverta Jane Orr, and brother Donald Keith King.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at East Rigby Stake Center, 4021 E. 300 N., Rigby. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St. Rigby, and from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
