Franklin Dwight Jones

Franklin Dwight Jones, 74 of Idaho Falls, died at his home on March 9, 2007 of thyroid cancer. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Franklin was born on November 15, 1932 in Stockton, Kansas, a son of Dwight Paul Jones and Cecile Ramsey Jones. He was raised and attended school in Stockton and Minneola, Kansas. He worked doing custom grain combining, logging, farming and running cattle. He joined the Army in August of 1954 and was discharged in 1956. He married Dee Ratlifff. They were later divorced. He married Marlene Kremer Avery Jones on July 6, 1989 in Rigby, Idaho. Franklin was an avid sportsman who loved fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. Franklin is survived by his wife Marlene of Idaho Falls, two daughters, Angela Jones, Karin (John) Shepard both of Idaho Falls, three sons, Dennis Paul (Cindy) Jones of Montrose, Colorado, Kevin Avery of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Vance (Rhonda) Avery of Rigby, one sister Linda (Byron) Gaede of Berthoud, Colorado, two brothers, Dwayne (Joan) Jones of Bulverde, Texas, Jerold (Linnette) Jones of Minneola, Kansas, one sister-in-law Mina Jones of Rigby, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother David Jones and one sister Eva McBee. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
