Freddie Lee Roy Price, 85, of Rigby, Idaho passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home with his family around him. He was born in Milo, Idaho on November 16, 1936, the son of Russell Price and Effie Brown Price. He grew up farming in the Rigby, Milo area with his family and continued his family’s legacy for the rest of his life.
Fred married Sharon Dinsdale on January 21, 1954 at the Milo Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint in Milo, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple March 25, 1965. Sharon preceded Fred in death. On February 4, 1989 he married June Park Lovell in the Clark Church, Rigby, Idaho. This provided a helpmate and companion to Fred.
Fred was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several church callings. He served on the Water Board of Directors for Jefferson, County. He was a member of the Rigby Lions Club and served his community as a 4-H leader. His life was farming and his hobbies were fishing, fly tying, going on drives, socializing, telling stories and enjoying a Wendy’s Jr. Cheeseburger.
Fred is survived by his children; Lynn (Vicki) Price, Rick (Rhonda) Price, Carla (Jody) Schmardebeck, and Travis (Amy “Betsy”) Price with 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He loved his step children as his own. Larry (Cathy) Lovell, Wayne (Pat) Lovell, Steve (Inge) Lovell, Dena (Jeff) Norman, Mike (KayLyn) Lovell, and Bryan (Jill) Lovell with 26 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. His sisters, Joy Ockermen, and Anne Summers and brother, John (Deana) Price.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Dinsdale Price and wife June Park Lovell Price. His parents, Russell and Effie Price. Siblings, Deloris, Cliff, Donna, Vic, Bill, Don and Sherry.
Funeral services will be held in Fred’s honor, Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho). A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery following the service. The family shares their appreciation to Solace Hospice for the tender care they gave our dad.
