Gary Stanton Adams, 80, formerly of Menan and Rigby, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Gables of Ammon Assisted Living Center.
He was born March 19, 1929, in Ontario, Oregon to Leslie Leonard Adams and Venda Sophia Rash Adams. He grew up and attended Rigby schools and graduated from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College. In November, 1955 he married Mildred Elaine Ivie, in Elko Nevada. He served with the Merchant Marines during WWII. He worked at the INEL, NRF facility, as a chemist for over 30 years.
Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed guns and reloading is own ammunition, hunting, fishing, horses, and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Adams, of Idaho Falls, daughters, Valerie McConnell, of Idaho Falls, Michele (Bill) Iannone, of Reeders, PA, sons, Michael Adams, of Preston, Sean Adams, of Idaho Falls, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2009, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
