Gary Lundquist, age 74, of Labelle died June 29, 2009 at Madison Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 19, 1935 in Labelle, ID. Son of Frank Royal and Edith Marie Moses Lundquist. He attended schools in Labelle and graduated from Rigby High School. On June 18th 1954 he married Sandra Ann Young in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had 6 children.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Bishop, a member of the High Council, Ward Mission Leader, and as a Temple officiator for 14 years. He ranched and farmed all of his life and was involved in the community as a Bonded Livestock dealer, President of Labelle Canal Co., a Member of Jefferson County Farm Bureau Board, a partner in Rexburg Livestock Auction, and a supporter of the 4-H, Boy Scouts, and other local charities.
Gary traveled to many places some of which were Africa, Australia, Israel, and China and along with his love to travel he was a good husband, and a loving and generous Father and Grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, of Labelle, 1 Daughter: Geri Jean Lundquist, of Spanish Fork, UT; 2 Sons: Kevin (Bonnie) Lundquist and Kerry (Susan) Lundquist of Labelle; 2 Sisters: Marge Siebert of St. George, UT, and Joyce (Neil) Polson of Rigby; and 1 brother Delbert (Colleen) Lundquist of Ririe; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters: Louise, Ethel, Mary, and Ruth; 2 Brothers: Blaine and Jackie; 3 Children: Kyle, Shawn, and Joel; and 2 Grandchildren: Nathan and Tory.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Labelle LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to the funeral on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Labelle church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
