George Craig Bailey

April 24, 1948 — October 8, 2021

George Craig Bailey, 73 of Shelley passed away October 8, 2021, in Idaho Falls.

George was born April 24, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio a son of Dewey George Bailey and Geraldine Beatrice Cook Bailey.  He graduated from Ricks College (BYU-I) and BYU in Provo graduating with a degree in engineering.  He served in the United States Army as Sargent while being stationed in Germany.  George married Daneen Jonella Scarborough in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 16, 1976.

He worked in drafting and design in ARGON, INTEC and at the INEEL.  He has lived in West Virginia, Germany, Utah and Idaho.

He converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while serving in Germany.  He was a gun and knife enthusiast and loved fishing and hunting.

George is survived by his wife Daneen Bailey of Shelley, daughters, Shanda (Hillary) Bailey-Johnson of Ogden, Utah, Jennifer (Charles) Plank of Ammon, Idaho, sons, Craig Bailey of Idaho Falls, Jason Bailey of Shelley, Brian (Tarajean) Bailey of Iona, Travis (Sarah) Bailey of Ammon, Daniel Bailey of  Shelley, Joshua Bailey of Shelley, brother Mark (Linda) Bailey of  Matoaka, West Virginia and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby (101 W. Main Street).  The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.  Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
