George Truman Bemis, 64, of Lewisville, Idaho died Thursday, February 5, 2004 in Rexburg, Idaho. George was born October 28, 1939 at Los Angeles, California the son of Granville Clark Bemis and Vera LaVon Spyker Bemis. He attended schools in Riverside, California and graduated from Poly High School.
He married Rose Marie LaLonde in Riverside, California on August 30, 1958. He worked in Riverside, California for Lockheed and Rorh Aircraft as a riveter building 707s. He also was a long haul truck driver for over 20 years.
He was a member of the NAFC North American Fishing Club and played darts on a dart league thru Cozy Club, Sub Way, Sneakers and others. He trained and broke horses and was a member of the American Horsing Association.
He loved fishing, hunting and his horses.
George is survived by his wife, Rose Bemis of Lewisville, Idaho. Five daughters, Anna Marie Self of Lewisville, Idaho, Juanita (Lavar) Tom of Cedar City, Utah, Carol (Chuck) Ludy of Eaton, Ohio, Karen Kathleen Pacheco of Lewisville, Idaho and Donna (Ron) Mathews of Twin Falls, Idaho. Three sons, Michael George Bemis, Justin Aaron Bemis and Jesse James Bemis all of Lewisville, Idaho. One brother, Vonny (Ruth) Bemis of Ogden, Utah. Twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Bemis and a grandson, George Bemis Mathews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho. The family will meet with friends, Wednesday, February 11, 2004 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
