George Milton Boutsis

November 18, 1931 — July 7, 2010

George Milton Boutsis, our Dad, G-Man, Brother and Friend passed away peacefully on July 7, 2010, surrounded by loved ones, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Ririe, Idaho. He was 78. Dad was born on November 18, 1931 to Margaret Morse and Louie Boutsis in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was very close to his father who passed away when Dad was 12. Several years later, his mother married Sam Rigby. Dad was very close to his step- father also and always spoke very highly of him. Dad was the 3rd of 9 children. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He married Mary Jane Adams on October 25, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later married in the Greek Orthodox Church. He grew up in the Salt Lake area where he lived most of his life. After retiring and selling his business, he and Mom moved to Mesquite, NV. When Mom passed away he moved to Ririe, Idaho with his daughter, son-in-law and their family, where he resided for the last 8 years of his life. Dad joined the Navy at the age of 17, and proudly served on the Gunston Hall Cruiser Ship in the Korean War from 1948-1952, where he was awarded 9 medals. He was a member of the Am Vets and served as the National Vice Chairman for the Western United States for 1 year. He was also a Mason and a Shriner and remained a member of Twin Peaks Lodge in Midvale, Utah. Dad was a prominent businessman in the Salt Lake area owning, partnering and operating several businesses, such as; G & G’s, The 39 Club, Christine’s Tavern, The Club 90, Duke’s, The Sports’ Center, and The Sage Supper Club, which he was most well known for. He loved to fish, golf and hunt. He often talked about many good memories doing the things he loved with the family, people and friends he loved. Dad was one of the most caring, giving men around, a shining example of strength, compassion and service to all of us. He always “had enough” for someone in need, most of the time without the recipient even knowing where the “help” came from. He is survived by his children, Jami Boutsis (John Candelaria), West Jordan, Utah. Kristi (Clark) Hamilton, Ririe, Idaho. Kami Boutsis (Dan McPhie), Salt Lake City, Utah and George (Anita) Boutsis, Albuquerque, New Mexico. 5 sisters and 2 brothers, along with 10 Grandchildren who all love their “G-Man” dearly. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Stepfather, sister Kay Etchberger, and wife Mary Jane Adams Boutsis.
