George R. Ellsworth

George Ronald Ellsworth, 89 of Lewisville died September 24, 2008 at The Rexburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 3, 1919 in Lewisville, to Preston Blair Ellsworth, and Edna Boyes Walker. He attended schools in Lewisville, and graduated from Midway High School. He continued his education at Utah State University where he was on the wrestling team. On March 8, 1940, he married Phyllis Bean in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. They later divorced. He married Luseane Kava, in January, 1991, in Hawaii. They later divorced. He farmed in Lewisville on the family farm. In 1947, he purchased a ranch with his brother James, near Tendoy. He farmed in Corvallis, Montana. In 1963, he moved to Lemhi, ID where he ranched, until he retired in 1989. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Branch President in Montana and later served as a Bishop in Leadore, ID. George enjoyed working, traveling, and all sports. He is survived by his second wife; Luseane Kava, of Orem, UT, children; Janet Ellsworth, of Lewisville, Diana Lynne Christensen, of Helena, MT, Rebecca Adams, of Tooele, UT, Lokelani Ellsworth, of Orem, UT, George Ronald Ellsworth Jr., of Salmon, Stephen Blair Ellsworth, of Pocatello, Niulala Ellsworth, of Orem, UT, siblings; Marjorie Ellsworth, of Idaho Falls, Edna Bramwell, of Sun City, AZ, Dorothy Roundy, of Mapleton, UT, Elmer F. Ellsworth of Lewisville, Oscar Ellsworth of Lewisville, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis, brothers; Preston Blair Ellsworth II, Stephen Ellsworth, James Ellsworth and a great-grandson, Colson Stauffer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Grant LDS Chapel, with David Ellsworth, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services that day. Interment will be in the Lewisville Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
