George F. Stanton, age 65, of Woodbury MN, died on August 4, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul MN, after a courageous battle with emphysema.
He was born the son of George S. and Mary Ann (Cardano) Stanton on September 21, 1946 in Winsted, CT. George proudly served in the US Army. He had been working in parts distribution at Maplewood Toyota. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Brenda; five children: Tom (Courtney) Stanton of Hawaii, Michael (Heidi) Stanton of Minnesota, Camron James of Hailey, Idaho, Charity Granberry of Wisconsin, and George (Heather) Stanton of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren: Megan, Jaycob, Garret, RJ, Tyler, Darnell, Griffin, Zachary, Brianna, Hunter, Alexander, Elizabeth, Zachary, and Xavier; great-granddaughter, Savannah; extended family and friends.
A visitation was held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9 at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, Woodbury, MN. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10 at Oakdale Stake Center, 2140 Hadley Ave N, Oakdale MN.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, 3810 E. Menan Lorenzo Hwy, Rigby, ID 83442. With Military Rites by The Jefferson Veterans Team and The Idaho Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
