Georgia Chase, 87, of Rexburg, formerly of Ririe, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at her home in Rexburg.
She was born August 29, 1922 in Lorenzo, to Lavern Williams and Elvina Carpenter Williams. She was raised and attended schools in Rigby. On April 29, 1938, she married Von Albert Chase. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She worked for the Idaho Fresh Pack for 29 years until she retired at age 73.
Georgia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, riding 4 wheelers, traveling, flower gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Blackburn, of Idaho Falls, JoAnn Croft, of Rexburg, Verna Swagger, of Boise, sons; Loyd (Connie) Chase, of Rigby, Dennis Chase, of Pendleton, Oregon, Dustin Chase, of Boise, 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 siblings 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the Ririe Stake Center with Bishop Mike Richards, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Ririe – Shelton Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
