Gerald Aden Gunderson

Gerald Aden "Gundy" Gunderson, age 59, of Menan, died at his home Thursday, December 27, 2007, from heart failure. Gerald was born April 28, 1948, at Rigby, Idaho a son of Aden Glen Gunderson and Afton Chapman Gunderson. He attended schools in Menan, graduating from Rigby High School. He played football at Rigby High School and played basketball and softball. August 4, 1967, he married Kendalee Wylie. He farmed in Menan, built swimming pools in California and Michigan, and was a Cement Contractor for 20 years. He worked as a carpenter for several years and worked for the Department of Agriculture as a Potato Inspector for 20 years. Gerald was a member of the LDS Church, was a life scout with the Boy Scouts of America, rode with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Posse and served as President. He served as President of the National Chariot Association and as a delegate. In 1981 he won the Shrines Chariot Championship. He was and active member of the American Quarter Horse Association and raced Quarter Horses throughout the Intermountain west. He was an avid horseman, hunter and fisherman and enjoyed snow machining. His Grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife Kendalee of Menan, daughter Debi (Charles) Keshian of Boise, son, Jared Wylie (Stacie) Gunderson of Idaho Falls, father Aden Gunderson of Menan, sister, Jeanine (Don) Bunn of Wendell, ID, Brothers, Glenn (Sharon) Gunderson of Atlanta, GA, Garth (Bonnie) Gunderson of Menan, Brent (Elaine) Gunderson of Menan, brother-in-law Jerry Clark, of Menan, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Afton, and a sister, Sharon Clark. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Menan LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Garth Gunderson, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
