Gerald Coulam Wolz

Gerald Coulam Wolz, 83, of Rigby Idaho passed away in his home Saturday June 10, 2017. Gerald was born on November 19, 1933 to Louis Larraine Wolz and Dorothy Jane Coulam. He was raised in the Rigby, Sugar City, and Ucon areas where he attended and graduated from Rigby High school. He later attended College at Ricks and Brigham Young University. On June 12, 1953 Gerald married LaDeen Lewis in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked as the Nuclear Reactor Operations Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory. He was a member of the Kelly Canyon Ski Patrol, and he also held a position at the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning and as a Board Member on the South Fork Water Conservancy. Gerald was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many callings which he loved. He served as a Bishop, a counselor in the Ricks College 4th Stake Presidency, a scout master, taught Gospel Doctrine class, and worked in the temple as an Ordinance worker, as well as a calling to be a Stake Patriarch. Gerald served a welfare mission with his wife LaDeen on a Church ranch in Payson, Utah in 1997. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman where he loved hunting, fishing, riding horses, and his Black labs. He was a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Posse. He loved to work in his garden and had the unique ability to bring people together. He was always the life of the party and loved his family and friends deeply. Gerald is survived by his wife LaDeen, daughters, Terri Ann (Dave) Robison of Roberts, Danette (Reed) Miller of Rigby, Rebecca (Mike) Radford of Springville, Utah, a Son Darren L. (Michelle) Wolz of Springville, Utah, a sister Dorothy Larraine Neddo of Holladay, Utah, and a brother Paul L. (Geraldine) Wolz of Casper, Wyoming, as well as 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Dorothy Wolz, a brother Robert L. Wolz and two great-grandsons, Harrison Reed Miller, and Aiden Michael Johnson. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Rigby 5th ward LDS building, 258 West 1st North Rigby, Idaho 83442. The family will visit with friends and family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Rigby 5th ward building and prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 am.
