Gerrie Kinghorn

Geraldine “Gerrie” Kinghorn 68, of Lewisville died Wednesday, November 09, 2011 at Pinebrook assisted living center in Rigby. She was born July 25, 1943, in Grant, Idaho to Marion Earl Taylor and Nellie Byram Taylor. She was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School, she continued her education at Ricks College and Utah State University. On May 24, 1963, she married David E. Kinghorn in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union they added 5 children. Gerrie is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she loved the gospel and served in numerous callings, she especially enjoyed serving in the temple. Gerrie had a great work ethic and was always busy. She raised a garden and canned it each year. She was fun loving, a wonderful cook, and enjoyed traveling. She especially loved her grandchildren. The family expresses their gratitude to Pinebrook Assisted Living Center and Hands of Hope Hospice. She is survived by her husband, David E. Kinghorn of Lewisville, daughters, Brenda (Brad ) Anderson, of Idaho Falls, Kristy Lee (Chris) Archibald, of Menan, sons, Bill D. (Kellie) Kinghorn, of Star, Idaho, Dan Taylor (Wendy) Kinghorn, of St. George, Utah, Dr. Kurt Earl (Lacey) Kinghorn, of Lima, Ohio, sisters, Deloris (Lynn) Thueson, of Parma, Idaho, Oriel (Jay) Cottle, of Menan, brother, Mac B. (Saundra) Taylor, of Idaho Falls, 13 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Lewisville 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at Lewisville 2nd Ward Church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Humanitarian Aid Fund, in Gerrie’s Name.
