Glade William Mccrary

Glade William McCrary died Tuesday November 9, 2004. Glade was born July 10, 1922 in Downey, Idaho a son of John Chester McCrary and Cecil E. Gibbs. His family moved to Osgood where he attended elementary school, and high school in Ammon. When Glade was 16 his family moved to Monteview. He grew up working on the family farm with his father and brothers. On October 30, 1944, he married Dorothy Smuin; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They purchased a farm in Monteview. Glade farmed until his health forced him to retire. His wife Dorothy died on December 29, 1985. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a member of the Stake High Council, counselor in the Bishopric, and Elders Quorum President, and serving for 12 years as a stake missionary. On November 27, 1987 Glade and Barbara Welchman Scott were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. Glade loved farming, missionary work and fishing, when he could find the time. Survivors include his wife Barbara of Monteview, daughters Sherrill Jean Moss of Idaho Falls, Ina Gail Sommers of Winslow, Arizona, and son Lynn (Kim) McCrary of Cedar Hills, Utah, step children Michael (Kelly) Scott of Mountian View, Wyoming, Bryce (Becci) Scott of Phoeniz, Arizona, Todd (Julie) Scott of Taylorsville, Utah, Tara Layne Scott of Provo, Utah, three brothers Merlin (Jean) McCrary of Rigby, LaVor (Betty) McCrary of Blackfoot, Freeman (Betty) McCrary of Suracuse, Utah, one sister LaRue (Joseph) Bell of Idaho Falls, seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dorothy, and three sisters, Monda McCrary, Beverly Monsen, and Connie Connell. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monteview LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Waid Stoneberg conducting. The family will meet with friends at the church prior to the services from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the West Jefferson Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
