Glen Higley, 61, of Rexburg, died April 16, 2010, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.
He was born March 26, 1949, in Rigby to Harold Higley and Mary Alice Roth Higley. He graduated from Rigby High School, and then continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg. He was a self taught carpenter and builder and built and remodeled many homes and commercial buildings in the area. He was especially proud of the home he built for his family by himself.
Glen joined the US Army March 19, 1969 and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged March 31, 1971.
He married Elizabeth Ann Harkness Scott on June 26, 1987 in St. Anthony, they later divorced.
Glen loved to fish, go boating, camping and working on cars with his son, Dallas. He liked to hunt for asparagus, mushrooms and huckleberries and take trips to Ft. Hall. He was a perfectionist who would tear down and rebuild if it wasn’t exactly like he pictured.
He is survived by his son, Dallas, of Lyman, a step-daughter, Angie (Sam) Carpenter of Idaho Falls, a granddaughter, Jordyn, and siblings, Leonard (Carol) Higley, of Pocatello, Pat Leatham, and Richard Higley, both of Rexburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louise Clark.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at Twin Bridge Park in Ririe. With Military Rites presented by Jefferson VFW and the Idaho Honor Guard.
