Glen Austin Strupp, 92 of Rigby, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at The Gardens Senior Living Center in Rigby.
He was born October 26, 1921, in Annis, Idaho to Frank Strupp and Etta Drake Strupp. He was raised and attended schools in Annis. On May 15, 1943 he married Evelyn Mueller in Idaho Falls, she preceded him in death. On May 15, 1981, he married Norma Ann Chivers Fife in Swan Valley. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Toomer Construction for 42 years.
Glen served as president of the Jefferson County Historical and Farnsworth TV Museum, and was on the board of directors for 16 years; he was serving as Vice President at the time of his death. He served as co-chairman, with his wife Ann, for the Jefferson County Stampede Parade. Glen was an avid gardener and loved sharing his harvest with family and friends. He was also an avid Christmas light decorator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Strupp, of Rigby, step-daughter, Holly (Kerry) Romrell, of Rigby, step-sons, Wayne (Nikki) Fife, of Menan, Joe (Trudy) Fife, of Idaho Falls, brothers, Bud (Joyce) Strupp, of Rigby, Louis Olsen, of Menan, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; wife, Evelyn Strupp; sisters, Lula Green, Annie Olaveson, Gladys Worman; brothers, Amos Strupp, Ted Strupp, Archie Strupp, Richard Mitchell, Leonard Drake.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday and from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
