Glenn Archibald McKenzie, 84 of Utah, passed away February 12, 2013 from complications of cancer and pneumonia.
He was born September 11, 1928 in Ogden, Utah, to George and Anna Withall Hodges McKenzie. Glenn proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army occupation forces in post-war Japan. He married Charlene Marberger, they later divorced; he then married Sheron Eckersell, they later divorced. He then met and married Julia Gardner, his eternal sweetheart, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple 25 years ago.
Glenn loved sports and was an avid golfer. He and Julie spent many fun hours together on the golf course. He also loved music and had a wonderful bass voice. He was a gifted singer and sang with the former Jay Welch Chorale.
Glenn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a High Priest. His two greatest loves in life were the gospel and his family; he was blessed to be the patriarch of five generations. He will be sweetly remembered as a wonderful husband, loving father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his brother Richard McKenzie, wife, Julia McKenzie, 9 Children, 30 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the LDS Chapel, 115 East Wicker Lane, Bountiful, Utah. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services, Saturday, all at the church.
