Glenn Lake Spracher

Glenn Lake Spracher, 83 of Ammon, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his home. He was under the care of Access Hospice. He was born December 31, 1929, in Winnemucca, Nevada to Glenn Bilton Spracher, and Elsie Evelyn Lake Spracher. He was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. On July 20, 1948 he married Nathell Andrus in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He served as a Medic in the US Army from 1950 to 1952, during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Glenn’s Cold Storage. He was a butcher by trade and worked at Skyline I.G.A., Stokes Grocery Store and Albertsons. Glenn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served in The Boy Scouts, as an Unemployment Specialist, and he loved to work on the church farm. He was also a member of The Elks Lodge and The Lions Club, serving in procuring glasses for those who needed them. He loved volunteering for the Red Cross and donated over 200 pints of blood. He also enjoyed volunteering at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Palisades Reservoir in Idaho and his winter home in St. George, Utah with his wife and family. When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little-but not too long, And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me-but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me-but let me go. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Veterans Hospital in Pocatello. He is survived by daughters, Terri Bond, Cheri (Richard) Hale, son, Kurt (Leann) Spracher, all of Idaho Falls, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and a step-sister. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
