Gordon Clair Ball passed away on January 28th 2025 after a lengthy illness at home surrounded by his loved ones under the care of Brio Home Health and Hospice.

Gordon was born March 25th,1946, in Rigby, Jefferson, Idaho to Raymond G. Ball and Clara A. Pabst. He joined the family as the baby boy. The family eventually grew into a lively bunch of six siblings when another baby sister was later added: Raelene, Colene, Richard, Reynold, Gordon and JoNell. He enjoyed many fishing trips and other outings with his Dad and brothers.

Gordon entered into his first marriage, August 10th, 1962 to Larene Taylor and was blessed with three children: Norman Clair, Janene, and LaNette (Penny). This marriage later ended. Gordon later married Sandra Madsen, August 15th,1980, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. A daughter, Kira Colleen, was born to this union and she was the pride and joy of her parents' lives. They made their home in Lewisville, Idaho.

Busy with life, Gordon worked in the Rigby Lumber Yard business with his father, Raymond. Later, he moved with his brother-in-law, Merlin Merrill, to California and worked in the swimming pool industry. Then moved to Othello, Washington where he farmed and again worked in the lumber yard.

Having the opportunity and chance to move back home after many years, he established himself back in Rigby. He was employed and retired after 24 years of service from the Rigby Idaho Facilities Management Group. Gordon was a volunteer for the Central Fire District and actively served from 1980 until 2004 holding many titles Battalion Chief, EMT, and Firefighter, then becoming Commissioner in July of 2004 until his passing in 2025. He loved helping people and serving his community. If you knew Gordon he had a great love for children and candy. When retirement came, he decided to fill his time driving a school bus for Jefferson School District 251. He loved all of the children as if they were his own. Wherever he would go you would hear there is Mr. Ball and the kids would run and hug him. He also worked at Artco and Freshpak. He was a very talented man and enjoyed working with his hands, especially woodworking: building cribs for his grandkids, furniture for his home, family and friends.

Gordon has valued life-long friends and enjoyed serving in the Lewisville 2nd Ward for many years. He always depended on his testimony and love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was sustained by the love and support of his brothers and sisters.

Gordon is survived by his children with Larene: Son Norman Clair & Daughter LaNette (Penny) Grandchildren: Christopher Ball, Bryan Ball, Shane Ball, Brandon White, Aaron James Boles, Rachel Ann Boles Great-grandchildren: Raletta Fame Barton and Kai Leuni Thomas.
