Grace Olsen Kofford

Grace Olsen Kofford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Rigby, Idaho, on January 31, 2022 after a second courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 28, 1933, in College Ward, Utah to Moses P. Olsen and Coila Hill Olsen.

She was an excellent seamstress and loved using her talent over the years to help others. She has altered cheer outfits, beautified prom and wedding dresses, took in (and out) suits and coats and created over 1,000+ of the cutest dresses for humanitarian needs.

She worked supplementing the family income by working in the school lunch program and continued working to send kids to college and missions. She enjoyed contributing to the goals of the family and made many lifelong friends from the people she worked with.

She realized the blessings received when a missionary is your focus and she not only supported her sons' missionary efforts, but went on to assist many others in and out of her family on missions around the world. She always stated that she “needed the blessings” and that she received more back than what she sacrificed.

Grace spent over 50 years of her life looking after the wellbeing of her oldest son Dale, who has needs that are special and unique. Her unfailing commitment and love are a testament to the care of a mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Kent Kofford, brother Elmer Olsen, sisters Elnora (Prentice) Smith, Lola (George) Pehrson, Rachel (Glenn) Spillman, Gwenivere (Paul) Pehrson, and Ruby (Vern) Olsen. She is survived by her 3 boys, Dale Kofford, Barry (Jen) Kofford, and Greg (Camille) Kofford, and 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Wednesday evening, February 9, 2022 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. We welcome you to attend a graveside service on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Logan City Cemetery, 1200 East 1000 North, Logan, Utah, at 11:00 AM.
