Grant Russell Carlson

Grant Russell Carlson, 58, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away November 5, 2024 at Idaho Falls Community Hospital in Idaho Falls.

Grant was born May 27, 1966, in Davenport, Iowa, a son to Russell Harold Carlson and Rosalyn Lucille Duncan Carlson. He graduated from High School in Mesa, Arizona and later served in the U.S. Army, where he proudly honored his country. We are deeply grateful for his service.

After his time in the Army, Grant pursued a career in carpentry, which took him to many places around the world. He developed a great love for the craft and became incredibly skilled in his work.

On July 26, 2003, Grant married Misty Dawn Larson in Rigby, Idaho. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

On February 16, 2011 their first daughter Raynie Dawn was born. On December 17, 2012 their second daughter Haylie Jean was born.

The birth of their two children gave him immeasurable joy! Grant loved to go fishing and spend time outdoors. He had a deep love for his cats. Grant was an affectionate, kind man, dedicated husband and dad!  He always put the need of others ahead of his own.

Grant had a very witty sense of humor. He loved to send daily fun videos to family and friends to make them laugh.

Grant had a love for art and shared it with his girls. Hopefully they will carry on the talent.

Grant’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. His legacy will live on for generations to come.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rose Jenkins, His brother Kurt Carlson and all of his grandparents.

Grant is survived by his wife Misty Carlson, daughter, Raynie Carlson and daughter, Haylie Carlson. Father, Russell H (Bonnie) Carlson.  Sister, Susie (Jon) Adams. Brother, Craig (Anna) Carlson. Sister, Lori (Darrell) Johnson. Nephew, Blake Gray. Niece, Leila (Jim) Scott.  Mother-in-law, Lorie (Ted) Sermon. Sister-in-law, Lacie (Brandon) Rich. Sister-in-laws, Samantha Ericsson and Kelcie Jensen.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 31st, 2025 at 2:00pm at Heise Hot Springs in shelter #3 (5116 East Heise Road, Ririe, ID 83443)
