Greg H Marley, age 63, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 after a two year battle with cancer.   Greg was born on October 20, 1960 in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Owen Stanley Marley and Lana Harris Marley.  He was the 2nd child born in the family of five boys and one girl.  He grew up in McCammon, Idaho and graduated from Marsh Valley High School.

Greg was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had the opportunity to serve an LDS mission in the Little Rock Arkansas Mission.  On February 23, 1985, Greg was married to Catrina Clark and sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. It was a match made in heaven. They were blessed with 2 sons, Joseph Thomas (J.T) Marley and Porter Greg Marley.

Greg had a strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and willingly used his talents to serve in many organizations and callings.  These included; Primary, Sunday School, Young Men’s, Elder’s Quorum President, Ward Clerk, Bishopric Counselor, and Bishop. He loved the people he served and they loved him.

Before settling in Rigby, Idaho, he and Catrina lived in Green River, Wyoming, while Greg worked as a carpenter and later started his own framing company.  Framing was something he really enjoyed and acquired this love from his Grandpa Harris and Uncle Jon.  He taught this skill to the many young men that he employed over the years.  Later in life he worked for Jefferson School District and ended his career working for Jefferson County as a Building Inspector.

He was a true cowboy who loved horses and roping and gave up the team roping life to follow his kids’ and grandkids’ dreams. He coached J.T and Porter in all of their sports and continued coaching his grandson, Easton.  He fiercely loved his grandchildren, Easton Jay, Brooklyn Lee, Maci Jo, Margot Breanne, and Sloane and spending time with each of them.   During his final days he was still going to his grandson Easton’s games and practices. Greg always supported everything his kids and grandkids did.

Greg is survived by his wife Catrina Marley, and sons; J.T. Marley, Porter (Jacey) Marley. Parents; Owen Stanley and Lana Harris Marley. Siblings, Neil (Leticia) Marley of McCammon, Blake (Cindy)Marley of Lyman Wyoming, Kirk (Alison) Marley of Rigby, Idaho, Melissa (Bret) May of Three Forks Montana, and Paul (Jennifer) Marley of Pocatello Idaho, his mother-in-law, Reah Clark, his five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who love him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Glen and Glenna Harris, Guy and Clara Rabourn, and father-in-law, Charles Jay Clark.
