Guy Edwin Miskin

Guy Edwin Miskin, 91, of Terreton, Idaho, died at his home March 2, 2007. He was born August 23, 1915 to Edwin and Mildred Dodge Miskin in Ucon, Idaho. He attended Fairview elementary, and graduated from Ucon High School. On September 11, 1935, he married Afton Leone Gneiting in the Logan, LDS Temple. They made their home in Garfield, Tetonia and Coltman before settling in Terreton. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions including 11 years in 2 different Bishoprics, and a two year mission with his wife in the Massachusetts Boston Mission where he served as Branch President. He served in his community as a director in the County Farm Bureau,the Local Farm Bureau President, and director of the Owsley Canal Company. He also served several years on the County Draft Board. His occupations included farming, and construction at the INEL. Their family included 9 children, 66 grandchildren, 128 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Dixee (Rolf) Neugebauer of Smithfield, Utah, Kent (Shelma) Miskin of Terreton, Kaylen (Gerrianne) Miskin, Arlon (Linda) Miskin both of Rigby, Chad (Dixie) Miskin of Syracuse, Utah, and Kyle (Joyce) Miskin of Smithfield, Utah. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Afton, son Zane, daughters Jeneal and Jean, two brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the Terreton LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends Monday evening at the Terreton LDS Stake Center from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
