Hadley Clark Sorensen, 85, of Boise, formerly of Menan, died December 25, 2008, at the Life Care Center of Boise.
Hadley was born May 9, 1923 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a son of Jens Clarence “Doc” Sorensen and Mable Poole Sorensen. He grew up and attended schools in Firth, I.F. and Camas, and graduated from High School at Hamer, Idaho. He served in the Army infantry in the Second World War; He belonged to the American Legion. He worked as a rancher. He worked as a fireman and a security guard at INEL. Hadley married Vonda Dean Killian on July 22, 1944 in Sparta, Wisconsin. He enjoyed being a cowboy, boating, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Vonda Sorensen, of Boise, daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Coy, of Winnemucca, NV, Jennie (Jef) Dudley, of Inkom, sons, Mark (Marilyn), of Elko, NV, Randall “Pete” (Linda) Sorensen, of Blackfoot, Jerry (Kelly) Sorensen, of Boise, sisters, Billy (Will) Eckberg, of Notus, Idaho, Marie Hunter, of Billings, MT, Berva Dawn (Dan) Taylor, of Doole, TX, 18 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Mable Sorensen, a Brother, Dick Sorensen, a sister, Theda Bellin, 2 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
