Halley Jean Blair

Halley Jean Blair, 77, of Rigby, passed away peacefully at her home in American Fork, Utah Thursday April 21, 2005. She was born January 13, 1928 in Abraham, Utah to Clay and Jetta Rushton. After graduating from high school she worked as a secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C. She married Erwin J. Blair on September 23, 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Halley and Erwin lived in Rigby where they raised 5 children. Halley moved to American Fork after her husband passed away in January 2003. She devoted her entire life serving her immediate and extended family as well as working alongside here husband at Rushton’s Meat in Rigby. As a member of the LDS Church, she served faithfully in various positions in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society on both ward and stake levels. Halley is survived by her two daughters, Jann (Jack) Pruitt and Julie (Bruce) Jones; two sons, Brent (Becky) Blair and Clay (Kiplan) Blair; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Francis Hutchins, Elaine (Thyrald) Finn, and Dawn (Kay) Beck. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bobby; a sister, Beth Ann; a daughter, JoBeth; a son, Layne; and her loving companion, Erwin. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, at 11:00 am, at the Garfield LDS Church, 71 North 3700 East. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, April 24, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, from 6-8:00 pm. and on Monday April 25, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel of Rigby.
