Harold T. Barnes, age 70, of Milo, died at the Idaho Falls Care Center Friday, December 26, 2003.
Harold was born May 21, 1933, at Shelton, Idaho a son of Tommy Francis Barnes and Elsie Peterson Barnes. He married Denee Marie Romriell December 4, 1963 at Milo. Their Marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 16, 1968. Harold served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was assigned to the Motor Pool. He loved to build and built his own home. He farmed in the Milo area. He worked as a custodian for School District #91, working at Eagle Rock Jr. High, O’E Bell Jr. High and Clair E Gail Jr. High. He also worked for the Post Register as a Custodian, at Idaho Potato Growers and General Mills Grain and Feed in Ririe. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the office of High Priest and served as Dance Director. With his wife he took 4 foster children into their home. He enjoyed Quilting, Macramé, Crocheting and being with his family.
Survivors include: His wife Denee Barnes of Milo, daughters: Linnea (Don) Schmidlin of Banks, Oregon, Cheri (Kendall) Powell of Idaho Falls; Sons Kendle Barnes of Idaho Falls, Mark (Brenda) Barnes of Idaho Falls, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents a son David Harold Barnes and a brother Leonard Barnes.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m. in the Milo LDS Church (12127 North 75 East, Milo) with Bishop Kenneth Stucki officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday evening at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street, Rigby) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
