Harold Roland David, 78, of Roberts, Idaho died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation.
Harold was born February 17, 1926 in Idaho Falls, Idaho the son of Theodore Roosevelt David and Alice Caroline Adams David. He attended schools in Roberts, Idaho and was at Roberts High School when he joined the United States Marine Corp during World War II. After World War II he served in the Reserves until he was reactivated during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion, Lloyd Crystal Post 20 for 10 years and served as Commander in Rigby, Idaho. He also coached American Legion Baseball in Rigby. He helped with many Memorial Honor Guards performing military rites for veterans funeral services.
He married Vergie Louise Winder on June 14, 1946 in Menan, Idaho. He drove a milk truck picking up milk in Mud Lake, Roberts and delivering it to the Kraft Cheese Factory in Ririe, Idaho. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a member of the Eagles Club in Idaho Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Vergie Louise David of Robert, Idaho. Three daughters, Marilyn (Mark) Sorensen of Elko, Nevada, Kae Dene (Merwin) Carter of Blackfoot, Idaho and Ronda (Bruce) Grover of Rigby, Idaho. Three sisters, Betty Lou (Bill) David of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Ines (Ken) Garz of Ashton, Idaho and June David of Boise, Idaho. Six brothers, Dale (Louise) David of Maple Valley, Washington, Allen David of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ralph David of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Don (Ladene) David of Las Vegas, Nevada, Delmar (Norris) David of Fayettville, Georgia and Keith David of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Martin Rodrick David and a great grandson, Bryant Allen.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in the Grant Central Cemetery at 12:00 noon. The family will meet with friends at Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. before proceeding to the cemetery.
