Harold Linneas Larson, age 93 of Roberts, Idaho died Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at the
Good Samaritan Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Harold was born October 20, 1908 at Roberts, Idaho the son of Hans Martin Larson and
Christina Swensen Larson. He grew up in Roberts and attended schools there graduating from
Roberts High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II as mechanic
and a crew chief on B-17 bombers in England from March 1942 to October 1945.
He married Jessie Luella Rapp on November 27, 1946 in Roberts, Idaho later being solemnized
in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. He served as a Sunday School Superintendent and Home Teacher. He ran the silent
movie screen at the Roberts theater for years. He played the cello in the Larson orchestra for
many dances.
He worked for Jefferson County and the State of Idaho as a heavy equipment operator
maintaining roads.
He had served on the Roberts City Council for fourteen years and as mayor of Roberts for four
years. Harold enjoyed fishing and doing yard work.
He is survived by a sister-in-law Charlene Hendrickson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, brother in law
Robert Christensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jessie Luella Larson, eight sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the Roberts Stake Center at 11:00
a.m. with Bishop Mitch Scott officiating. The family will meet with friends prior to the services
from 10:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m at the stake center. Burial will follow the services at the Market
Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Good Samaritan Center or to a favorite
charity.
