Harold "Hal Vilhauer

September 16, 1941 — August 20, 2003

Harold “Hal” Vilhauer, 61 of Rigby, Idaho died at his home on August 20, 2003 after a valiant battle with cancer. Hal was born on September 16, 1941 in Rupert, Idaho the son of Herman and Ruth Vilhauer. He was raised and attended schools in Rupert, Idaho graduating from Minico High School. He attended Carbon College in Price, Utah on a football scholarship. He attended Idaho State Technical College in Pocatello and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1971, with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Hal married Lida Mikes in April of 1972. They later divorced. Hal married Teresa Colet Mueller Zundel on February 25, 1995 in Reno, Nevada. He was a member of the Jefferson Hills Golf Course and the Toastmasters. Hal worked for Bechtel at the INEEL as a mechanical engineer for the past 25 years retiring in May of 2001. Hal enjoyed golfing, bowling, spending time with his family, and traveling. Survivors include: Wife Teresa Vilhauer of Rigby, Idaho Daughters Jennifer Vilhauer and fiancé Ross Perry of Rigby, Idaho Kelli and husband Paul Forbord of Idaho Falls, Idaho Kari Zundel of Idaho Falls, Idaho Sons Mike and wife Catherine Vilhauer of Beaverton, Oregon Clint Zundel of West Jordan, Utah Kevin Zundel of Rigby, Idaho Parents Herman and Ruth Vilhauer of Rupert, Idaho Sister Violet and husband Michael Mather of Somerdale, New Jersey Brother Merlin and wife Marilyn Vilhauer of Beaverton, Oregon 4 grandchildren Ashley, Jayden, Jordann, and Sidnie Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2003 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street Rigby, Idaho 83442) at 11:00 a.m. The family will meet with friends on Friday prior to the services from 9:30 a.m until 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Donations may be made to the Aspen Home Health and Hospice ( 2240 East 25th Street Idaho Falls, Idaho 83404) and the Huntsman Cancer Institute (University of Utah 200 Circle of Hope STE 5127 C/O 1795 East South Campus Dr RM 113 Salt Lake City, Utah 84112-9902) in memory of Hal.
