Harry Herman Walton, 66, of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 31, 1946, in Golden Valley, North Dakota to Melvin Samuel Walton and Hattie Amelia Ueckert Walton. He was raised and attended schools in North Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Rigby. He was married three times, first wife, Pricilla, second wife Madge, and third was Alice, who he was married to for 20 years, and they later divorced.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge.
He later worked in the oil fields in Wyoming, until he broke his back. He then worked in potato warehouses, and played music in a band to support his family.
Harry enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, boating, music, mechanic work, reading Louis L’Amour books, playing guitar, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was an outstanding individual that touched many lives, and was a wonderful father, husband, and friend.
He is surved by his son, Travis (Nicole) Walton, of Rigby, daughters, Michelle (John) Struhs, of Rigby, Fawn (Casey) Hosey, of Idaho Falls, sisters, Nellie Pierce, of Rigby, Mary Birch of Montana, brother Fred Walton, of Blackfoot, and 9 grandchildren who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
