Harvey Dale Schneiter, age 80, of Idaho Falls, died at the Idaho Falls Life Care Center January 5, 2008.
Dale was born July 27, 1927 in Ashton Idaho, a son of Anton A. and Hazel E. Park Schneiter. He graduated from Midway High School in 1945. Dale then served in the Navy from 1945 – 1949 stationed in Guam as a Medical Corpsman. He married Edna Mae Morgan on October 10, 1950 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked in sales and was self employed in construction and trucking. He lived in Idaho Falls with his wife and family in the same residence for 50 years.
He was a long time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a member of the 4th ward he served as a counselor to the bishop and in various other callings. He loved to garden, fish, hunt, a good conversation, and his daughters and grandchildren, was a wonderful salesman, loved being with people, happy –go-lucky and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in a time of need.
He is survived by his spouse, Edna, Sister: Theda Schneiter, Daughters: Julie (Bill) Briggs of Logan, UT, Sheila (Dean) Thompson of Missoula, MT, Michele (Jim) Heiselmann of Idaho Falls, 11 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Dale is preceded in death by his daughters: Janiel Schneiter Butikofer and Jeanie Schneiter Loveridge.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Eckersell chapel and on Thursday from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
