Helen Rounds Bloxham, 97, of Rigby, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at her home of causes incident to her age.
Helen was born November 20, 1918 in Garfield, Idaho to Ambrose Edmund Rounds Jr. and Margaret Ethel Godfrey Rounds. She was raised and attended schools in Tooele, Utah and Iona, Idaho, graduating from Ucon High School. On May 26, 1936, she married Darwin Owen Bloxham in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were blessed with 3 sons. In addition to being a wife and mother, she worked on the family farm in Rigby, Idaho, with her husband, Darwin for 50 years.
Helen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in many capacities and organizations, including the Young Women’s and Relief Society. She was an avid genealogist for over 50 years and loved the work she was able to do. She taught genealogy classes in the area for many years and worked in Spanish extraction for 15 years. She would often travel to Salt Lake City to do genealogy and would teach others how to do their own research. She enjoyed reading, cooking, arts and crafts and traveling and camping with her husband. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed teaching her granddaughters how to cook.
She is survived by her son, Edwin (Barbara) Bloxham of Rigby, brother, Jerry (Barbara) Rounds, of Rigby, 9 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons, Von Bloxham and Tex Owen Bloxham
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Garfield 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 106 North 3800 East, Rigby, Idaho. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and Monday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
