Hippie Chesak

James Allen Chesak aka “Hippie”, 62 of Rigby, died Friday, December 05, 2014 at his home. He was born May 24, 1952 in Florence, Arizona to James “Jim” W. Chesak and Gladys May Snider Chesak. He was raised by the one he loved as mom; Beula Chesak and his dad Jim. He attended schools in Star Valley, Wyoming and Idaho Falls, Idaho graduating from Idaho Falls, High School. He continued his education at Boise State University, attending for 3 years. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He married Selinda Mullins; to this union 2 children were born, Patsy and Mikele. They later divorced. Hippie later married Barbie LaMar; to this union was born 1 son, John Thomas. They later divorced. He then met his very best friend Janet Moore; they were together for nearly 28 years. Hippie worked as a mechanic, a long haul truck driver and drove a wrecker for Valley Auto Salvage. He enjoyed hunting, fishing camping and riding his Harley. His all-time favorite pastime was giving his friends a hard time. He is survived by his sister, Gaylene (Mike) Burkhart, of Idaho Falls, brother, Carter Oakden, of Idaho Falls, daughter, Patsy (Scott) Fowler, of Idaho Falls, sons, Mikele Chesak of Salt Lake City, Utah, John Thomas of Weippe, Idaho, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, his best friend Janet Moore of Rigby, Idaho and their tag-a-long, canine best friend, Shorty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Beula Chesak, wife, Selinda Chesak, and sisters, Patsy Oakden and Myrna Chesak. A celebration of his life will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. Bring your best tunes and best stories and plan on hanging out for a while. See ya then.
