Horace Edmund Hill, 84, of Rexburg, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in Rexburg.
He was born January 3, 1926, in Rexburg to Edmund Hill and Mary Ann Bates Hill, he was raised in Rexburg and attended schools in Rigby. He Joined the US Navy on March 14, 1944 and was stationed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor, and sang in the Navy Choir. On Sept 6, 1947, he married Reva Lavon Hobley in Rexburg; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 14, 1951. He farmed and raised Black Angus Cattle in the Rexburg area.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a faithful Home Teacher, High Priests Group Leader, Sunday School President and as a Temple Worker in the Idaho Falls Temple for 20 years. He sang at funerals all over South East Idaho. Horace enjoyed singing, fishing at Henrys Lake, square dancing, farming and animals.
He is survived by his daughters; Kathy Joy (Grayden) Westfall, of Temple City, California, Tamara Kaye Edwards, of Las Vegas, Nevada, son; DeWayne A. (Rayne) Hill, of Tucson, Arizona; sisters; Mary Taylor, of Blackfoot, Idaho, Mable Leipper, of Concord, California, and 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Reva Lavon Hill, his parents, Edmund and Mary Ann Hill, 3 sisters, Delta, Stella, and Blanche, 2 brothers, Wallace and Howard, and a son; Brent E. Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Lyman 1st Ward LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
