Ina Gertrude Komes, age 92, of Rigby, died at her son’s home in Logan, Utah, July 31, 2006. She was born June 5, 1914, at Ogden, Utah a daughter to George Clark Streeter and Jane Ann Wilson Streeter. She attended schools in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School in 1932. She married Richard “Dick” E. Komes, September 26, 1936, at Ogden, Utah.
Ina has always been fond of outdoor activities with Dick: horseback riding on her own horse, horseback camping trips into the Windriver Mountains, fishing, motorboating and water skiing, snowmobiling, weekend camping in their trailer, and most recently spending weekends and holidays in their house on Palisades Reservoir in Alpine, Wyoming. She has almost always had pets in her home: dogs, cats, parakeets, cockatoos, and canaries, but usually singly, not simultaneously. Though, most recently, she has shared her home with six cats.
Ina always wanted a Convertible, so two years ago she bought a brand new Blue Chevrolet Corvette Convertible and has been tooling around Rigby in it. It still stands in her garage along side the saddle she used years ago on her horse. We will certainly miss her anecdotes of her experiences that she relates with a twinkle in her eye. She has lived a full and complete life. She was ready to go and be with Dick once again.
She is survived by a son Edwin C. “Ted” (Rebeca V.) Olsen III of Logan, Utah, six grandchildren: Char, Tanya, Eric, Ina, Rebeca, and Christopher and four Great grandchildren: Ariel, Nicholas, Sabrina, and Quint. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. “Dick” Komes her two older brothers and sister Calvin, Mark, and Vivian, and her parents.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
